AudioPlayer is an open source Java class that manages WAV, AIFF and AU audio files playback. It provides basic functionality like play, stop, mute and loop. Implements many useful methods to retrive song position, total time, remaining time, song audio format (sample frequency, resolution, channels). It's written using the JavaSound, a standard package included in J2SE since version 1.3, so you don't need to distribute any extra package like JMF (JavaMediaFramework) with your application. The Java Sound engine can render 8 or 16 bit audio data, in mono or stereo, with sample rates from 8KHz to 48KHz.

jlGui is a music player for the Java platform, WinAmp skins 2.0 compliant. It supports WAV, AU, AIFF, MP3, OGG VORBIS and SPEEX audio formats. It includes tags (Ogg comments and ID3 tags) viewers, Equalizer, Playlist. Streaming support is available for IceCast/Shoutcast servers. jlGui is Java Web Start compliant so it could be deployed easily. JNLP launcher is customizable. This project is open source (LGPL).

jMediaCat is a simple audio file catloging/database program (similar to iTunes Library or Winamp Media Library,) programmed entirely in Java. The program is meant to make searching through a large collection of digital music fast and straightforward. jMediaCat opens selected media files using the host system's default media player (jMediaCat was written to act as a frontend for players that don't have a terrific--or any--music database system.) jMediaCat currently indexes MP3, OGG, FLAC, WMA, M4A, AAC, and MIDI files in a given directory (and its subdirectories) on your hard drive.
